In most instances, the only proof required is that you performed the act that you have been charged with.
There are also moving and non-moving traffic violations. Moving violations occur when laid down traffic laws are violated by vehicles in motion. Examples of these violations are speeding, running red lights and stop signs as well as driving when drunk. On the other hand non-moving violations are related to the use of faulty equipment and parking. They include parking in a zone designated as no-parking and parking in front of fire hydrants or expired meters. Other traffic violations include making illegal turns, not giving the right-of-way when you should, using the carpool lanes even when you do not have sufficient passengers on board, driving without headlights at night and transporting oversized loads in a manner that is unsafe. You are likely to be issued with a ticket for violating ticket. In other instances, you may have your licensed revoked or even sentenced to jail.
