These are drivers who flout traffic rules, overtake careless and over speed thereby causing accidents that injure other innocent drivers and even pedestrians. Death is another danger of careless driving. By driving recklessly a motorist can either cause his/her own death or that of children and other motorists. The motorists may also cause the death of innocent animals. You are bound to run over dogs and cats if you drive recklessly in a residential neighborhood. You can be jailed for causing the death of innocent motorists and pedestrians. You may also be fined or have your driver’s license suspended. However, these are considered to be very light sentences. Reckless driving can cause damage to private property. Think of the many accidents you have seen on television or on newspapers where the drivers has driven right through a wall or someone’s store? Reckless driving results in accidents which damage the vehicle. If you are a reckless driver you are likely to incur high surcharges from your insurance company. Surcharges are amounts of money added onto your regular insurance premiums. It goes without saying that in the event you are unable to pay the surcharge, the insurance company will be unable to cover you.
