The US President, Ulysses S. Grant was given a traffic ticket and was fined $20 for it. This was because he was found to be riding his horse at a very fast pace on a street in Washington. This was a clear indication of the fact that irrespective of the status and his being the President of the country, a rule is a rule and there is no distinction by law on the basis of caste and creed and your social status and power. |
Ulysses was the 18th President of the United States of America, from 1869 to 1977. On record he is the only President till date to get a speeding ticket as he was running his horse along with a buggy on the streets of the national capital, Washington DC. There are many other such trivia about the President, another being that he was very scared of the sight of blood and thus, his chefs had the instructions to cook the meat till it got burnt.
Speeding a horse or speeding a car, is very dangerous. The worst part is that these are not dangerous for the person riding or driving but also for the others around. When an accident is caused, the effects are borne by many and most of them not being responsible for it. Thus, it is an advice that one should be careful and not speed as this will be hazardous to many.
